The Move this World curriculum provides a lesson-based, movement oriented approach to SEL and offers programming for grades Pre-K-12. A CASEL-approved evaluation demonstrates evidence of effectiveness in grades K-3. In this video-based curriculum the Move This World “hosts” lead lessons with pauses for educators to facilitate in-person discussion. A selection of foundational video content is translated into Spanish.
Strategies supporting educational equity
Move this World features strategies for youth action projects and customizing for context. This includes opportunities for students to reflect on social issues and inequalities that impact the local and global community and share steps for change. Additionally, they provide guidance for educators around content that may be sensitive in nature and ideas for how to respond to what is shared among their students.

Evidence of effectiveness
Results from a quasi-experimental evaluation conducted in the 2022-23 academic year (unpublished report written in 2023) supported the effectiveness of Move This World for public and charter school students. This evaluation included 3,531 students who were in grades K-3 attending Title I urban, rural, and suburban schools in the U.S. Midwest region (89% white). The study found that students who participated in the program had higher ELA and MATH RIT scores compared to students in the control group (outcomes reported 15-35 weeks after baseline) while controlling for outcome pretest, age, gender, and ethnicity.
